MVEC has a number of lesson horses for those riders who do not own their own horse or for those clients looking to further their riding on a different horse. The horses range in age, experience and training to provide a diverse range of options for riders. Each horse is schooled on a regular basis which helps ensure happy, educated horses for the program. We make our horses' care a top priority.
Pumba is a 27 y/o Quarter horse who is worth his weight in gold! He is a quiet, steady soul who is able to help the smallest of riders learn the basics as well as help those riders who are overcoming fear. In his younger years, Pumba successfully competed in Beginner Novice Eventing and First Level Dressage. Now he lives the semi-retired life and is happy to be lovingly doted on by everyone at MVEC.

Otto is a 12 year old OTTB who has graduated from the MVEC Fresh Start Program. At 17.1h tall, this guy is all legs! Although he can be a bit difficult on the ground, he is extremely reliable under saddle. With experience through Training level Eventing and 2nd level Dressage, he has a lot to offer the lesson and lease program at MVEC.

Moose is an 11 year old OTTB who has graduated from the MVEC Fresh Start Program. At 17.2h tall, he is the largest of the MVEC crew! Moose is Airborne's nephew and has a very similar build to his uncle but a very different brain! Moose is happy to jog around quietly and live the easy life. He has dabbled in Beginner Novice level eventing but is still conquering his dislike of water complexes.

Gizmo is a 14.3h, 18 year old paint cross who is full of personality and spunk! He is super game to try anything new and loves to trail ride. He completed several rated events and is a fantastic hunter pace horse. Gizmo is working on his dressage foundation and loves to show off. Gizmo sports a beautiful multi-colored tail which earned him the show name "Swish- N -Flick". Although technically a horse, Gizmo gets called "pony punk" quite frequently.

Squirtle is easily the cutest member of the MVEC family! (Just don't let the others hear that) He may be small at only 12hh tall but he is mighty! He thinks he's one of the big horses. Now at 17 years old, Kate has started and trained him from the age of 3. He is a perfect little pony and has started many new riders. He can w/t/c quietly under saddle and on the lunge line. He jumps consistently at 2'. Squirtle loves to compete and has several seasons competing at the elementary level of eventing.

Airborne is well known for his big personality and tends to draw attention when out competing due to his large presence. Airborne competed for many years at the USEA Preliminary level of eventing and is well schooled through third level dressage. He has been become a staple of the MVEC lesson program in his retirement years. He is quiet on the lunge line and is well-behaved for riders as they focus on further developing their seats. He is a school master who is able to teach riders about proper connection. He also enjoys just jogging over poles with w/t riders!

Winter Solstice aka Sully is a 16 year old Thoroughbred cross who stands around 16h tall. Sully is a sweet soul who is quiet enough for the smallest of riders while being a fun ride for more advanced riders. He has proven to be a wonderful teacher and patient horse. A cute natural jumper, Sully may not be the bravest over fences but he tries his heart out! Sully is also a wonderful babysitter for green horses, with his quiet brain and reliable nature. Sully is one of those magical unicorns so frequently talked about!

Whiskey is a 15 year old quarterhorse who loves to trail ride and spent last year learning the ropes of eventing. He is a super sweet soul and is about 15 hh tall with a very stocky build. Whiskey is a sensitive horse who appreciates kind and patient riders. Along with Barn Manager, Steph, Whiskey is head trail horse for our MVEC Trail Riding Programs. Whiskey is a great hunter pace and beach horse as well as a flashy little training level dressage horse.

Charmer is an 18 year old Paint Draft Cross who may actually think he is a big puppy dog! He came to us with the name "Charmer" and certainly lives up to it! Standing around 16.2hh he is a large horse but is gentle enough for even the smallest riders. Charmer loves treats and can stand for attention for hours. Over the years, Charmer has become one of our most reliable schoolies and does a great job teaching new riders to canter.

Eclipse is a Quarter Horse Cross about 15.1 h and around 20 years old. He has smooth gaits and a forward mind which makes him a super fun ride. He is overall an extremely happy horse which makes him very easy to work with. He is great for lunge lessons, trail riding and is working on his dressage skills. He is a quick learn and is a very rewarding ride as he aims to please. He is appropriate for all levels of riders. Eclipse is our "energizer bunny" who is always ready for a ride!

Benson is an 18year old Warmblood gelding who is super fancy and flashy in everything he does! Benson has extensive jumping experience and enjoys riding outside the ring. Benson is a quirky character and requires more experienced riders to help him be his best.

Connor came in as a consignment horse and never left! Kate quickly fell in love with his goofy personality and huge heart. Connor absolutely loves any and all attention. He has become a wonderful member of MVEC. Connor enjoys teaching all levels or riders and is quickly progressing in his own education under saddle. He enjoys to work, although enjoys grooming time even more! He is a talented horse with a big personality and he makes sure to make his presence known.

In Loving Memory of Bailey, he will forever be missed by everyone at MVEC. Bailey lived a long and full life. He was a special horse with the biggest heart. Although Bailey was small in stature he was big in personality. His best buddy was his life long friend, Pumba. Bailey was always sure to make his opinions and his presence known. Bailey was commonly referred to as the CEO of MVEC.
