Summer Programs

~This year there will be 3 different horsemanship programs offered at MVEC. Each week will have beginner and advanced groups in order to accommodate a wide range of young riders. ~

MVEC's camp is focused on teaching students valuable horsemanship skills while providing a safe and fun environment.

10am- 2pm
$400/week if paid for by June 1st, $450/week after June 1st 

Week 1: June 30th- July 4th: Everything Horse!

- This week will be dedicated to our riders learning proper care of their horsey friends which includes but is not limited to; their daily care, handling, anatomy, feeding routines, proper tack fitting. Under saddle they will work on improving their balance, riding theory and developing proper riding plans. Each rider will be assigned a horse and create a folder dedicated to their horse for the week.

Week 2: July 14th- July 18th: Horse Show Camp

• Welcome to show week! This week will be dedicated to teaching riders the ins and outs of horse showing. Showing is not mandatory but the week can conclude with Frazier’s Horse Show on July 20th. ( Additional fees apply) Learn braiding, show prep, trailering skills and warm up etiquette. Possible off-property schooling at the show grounds.

Week 3: August 18th- 22nd: Summer Close Out

- A last hurrah of fun before the school year begins! This week we will take advantage of the final summer days with games, outside riding activities and working on our trail riding skills. Riders will learn how to properly navigate riding outside the ring through different safety exercises. Silly summer fun will be the name of the game for this week!
